About Numter

Mathematics deserves an arena of its own.

Numter is a working name formed from number and letter: the two languages students meet as arithmetic grows into algebra and beyond.

N

Not another worksheet library.

Most learning products measure activity: lessons opened, exercises clicked, or points accumulated. Numter is being designed around ability.

A learner practices privately with feedback, then enters a fair duel where both participants receive the same mathematical problems under the same time limit.

01

Equal conditions

Every duel presents the same questions and clock to both players.

02

Accuracy first

Correct reasoning earns points. Speed matters only within a fair scoring rule.

03

Useful explanations

Practice should reveal why an answer works—not merely mark it right or wrong.

04

Meaningful measurement

Competitive rating changes through verified matches rather than grinding.

The rating model

General language, rigorous purpose.

We use the word rating instead of XP or Elo. “XP” usually measures activity, while “Elo” is strongly associated with chess. Numter rating will be a general estimate of competitive mathematical strength.
